Bo Deen ~ O.G. West Counts Car Club ~ 2011 2nd Annual Benefit Car Show- Best of Show & Best Project Car ~ Carson
“The Counts Car Club” originated back in 1961 in the City of Torrance, California. But now that part of the city is in Carson. The Car Club’s original name was “Counts of La Loma.” Macario “Mac” Guerrero was the founder of the Counts in the 60’s, they had 9 members. The car club lasted for about a decade. Mac decided to make a comeback of the Counts Car Club in 2007. So now the Counts are back cruzin’ in Carson, also hitting up car shows, doing events such as Sweet 16s, weddings, etc. ..

Recently, LA Taco was invited to check out the finals for the “Las Vegas Spin off,” over at the Marquee Night Club. Having never been to Vegas before, I jumped at the opportunity to cover this event and do a write up, while at the same time, check out the Vegas scene. The night was to feature 7 finalist, chosen from a panel of judges that include Lil’ John, DJ Vice, Sol Shafer, LMFAO and Markus Schulz. The winner, would get a $10,000 home studio, Puma gear, & a guest DJ appearance at a Vegas club. Needless to say that I never did find out who won because I never even got past the door. Sad face :(

Had the pleasure of seeing Plutocracy in LA for the first time since the 90’s… back when I was living in the Bay Area and going to shows in teen centers and various all ages venues. If you are a fan of NO LE$$, Kalmex and the Riffmerchants, ETO, Spazz, Agents of Satan then you know what I’m talking about. Their set was fast and intense in a crowded space fogged with blood, sweat and flying fists. Bastard Noise of course put on a great display of power and noise. Definitely the loudest band I’ve seen in a while. If you haven’t been to The Blvd Cafe on 2631 Whittier you are missing out. Be sure you get there early, the set times are all off. I missed Lack of Interest but I was able to snap a photo of the Legend himself:
At 83 he’s still grinding. No one can ever tell me they’re too old for this shit. See you at the next show.
