As a counterpoint to the LA Art Book Fair, Nah Fair is an annual book fair that prioritizes ideas and work produced by artists and small presses; with a focus on experiences of people of color, queer projects, political concepts active in the city and other peripheral expressions. Nah Fair was launched in 2015 and was attended by over 3,000 people, received press from Dazed Digital and Mask magazines, and brought together over 15 projects from the USA, Mexico and Japan.

This year’s Nah Fair is being hosted one block away from the LA Art Book Fair at 374 E 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Spanning two days, includes over 50 participating vendors and projects; highlighting POC projects, Queer projects, Los Angeles-rooted projects, and other politically-active projects from various parts of the United States as well as Japan, UK, Canada and several projects from Mexico (Crater Invertido and Ediciones Joc Doc from Mexico City, Echate Flores, Sin Retorno and Squat Mauricio Morales from Tijuana and Junta de Mejores from Mexicali).

Saturday’s schedule includes talks on urgent topics addressing precarity and uncertainty in our current political reality. Conversations include a workshop on technology & personal security with L.A. Crypto Party, a panel on what “ungovernable feminism” looks like in the age of trump, politically-driven readings curated by n0eg0, a conversation with Support.fm, a bail fund crowd-sourcing platform for trans and gender nonconforming people, and a large panel conversation with Defend Boyle Heights, BHAAAD and others active in the Boyle Heights struggles against art-gallery fueled gentrification and displacement.
