Preview: The Land of WE ~ Erin Yoshi

3:30 PM PDT on June 27, 2017

Next month, Tonalli Studio presents The Land of WE on Saturday, July 8th from 6:00-10:00pm at 4539 East Cesar Chavez Avenue, East Los Angeles, CA 90022. The solo show is by acclaimed muralist, Erin Yoshi, and the art exhibition is open to the public, family friendly and free.

Muralist, Erin Yoshi (Yoshi) introduces us to a world of her invention that celebrates eco-diversity and ancient cultural traditions. The Land of WE stands in direct opposition to the mindset behind the United States withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement... WE is a land rich in nature and exists pre-climate change. After painting murals around the globe, Yoshi has come home to Los Angeles to tell this story.

“ With signs of global warming starting to appear, I find myself clinging to the natural world from rainforests to underwater canyons. I seek to highlight true beauty and raw emotions within humanity, while capturing the breath that connects us together.”

    - Erin Yoshi

Erin Yoshi’s artwork goes beyond the easel. Her artwork is a reflection of her journey through the contradictions of life amplifying the beautiful, the raw, and the downright ugly. The work is rooted in her historic cultural memories and informed by current global conditions. She uses her creative practice to inspire, engage and transform space. Through her practice, she strives to create hope and lines of camaraderie.
