Reigning Pro Stock Champ Jeg Coughlin’s Pit. Getting ready for round 1. He made it the finals but did not take home the Wally.

These guys came all the way from Europe. Transporter and all! They went out in the 1st round.

Funny Car Driver Gary Scelzi

If you are familiar with Pomona Raceway we sit right above the tunnel that leads to the pits. We are pretty close to the starting line and about 18 rows up from the bottom. Here are some starting line shots.

The Midway

One of the round 1 pairing for Funny Car was John Force & Tony Pedregon. If you following drag racing you know their history. The race was sick from the start!

John did his super long burnout and it was on!

Right at the end of the race Tony’s car exploded into a fireball and the body and parts went flying everywhere!

I didnt get a photo of the explosion but I got a photo of the car coming back to the pits.

Thankfully Tony was ok after he was airlifted to the hospital as a precaution. Force ended up in the sand traps at the end of

the race. He said he saw parts fly into his car and was watching Tony and forgot to pull the chutes. Thankfully he was ok too.

The finals started at dusk so here is some header flames.
