DEA Busts Continue ~ Los Angeles

The DEA continues to “crack down” on what is, in this state and many others, legal medicine. During the campaign, President Obama pledged that he would divert precious federal resources away from these types of pointless, counter-productive raids. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen, as Obama has not yet removed Bush Administration officials from the DEA. The Washington Times reports:

The White House said it expects those kinds of raids to end once Mr. Obama nominates someone to take charge of DEA, which is still run by Bush administration holdovers.
“The president believes that federal resources should not be used to circumvent state laws, and as he continues to appoint senior leadership to fill out the ranks of the federal government, he expects them to review their policies with that in mind,” White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said.

I think it is sad that Michael Phelps won a zillion gold medals but is not allowed to smoke pot at the rare party he gets to attend without a massive public backlash.
Not that I gave a shit at the time, but few people achieve what he did. Meanwhile, millions of drunks are allowed to run all over the place acting nasty and not winning gold medals.
