Fiesta Broadway ~ Downtown

fiesta.jpg

It was hot as hell on Sunday, but nothing keeps us Latinos from attending Fiesta Broadway year after year. Although waiting in line to spin for the chance to win silly prizes in 110-degree weather sounds stupid to some people, for others the wait was worth samples of simple green and shampoo. The line for fresh cow’s head was my personal favorite. Mmmmmm…tacos de lengua!!!! And the kind firemen who attached a cool sprayer to the fire hydrant get mad props. Had us LA folks cooling off New York-style.

I wish there were emergency baby a/c’s/fans/water, I feel bad for the little one’s with sweat in their eyes :’(

I managed to score 2 simple green bottles, a metropcs chapstick, and a fan, so the festival was worth it!

Other highlights included Los Super Reyes performance, getting nails did at the Ghettro PCS booth and an unexpected tour of The Guadalupe Wedding Chapel on Broadway (where me and the homies ducked into for air conditioning purposes). If you haven’t been, check it out. It won some deign award despite its tacky decor and where else in LA can you get married, divorced, your taxes prepared and rent a tuxedo under one roof?
