One Important thing that I neglected to mention about the story is that my Beautiful girl friend, who is now md at me, took all the pictures that are up with the story. It was hard to pick out just one picture because they were all great. Behind every great man lies a great woman.

Hey, appreciate the write up. Nice job. Though I must point out just a "few" slight errors. The "few" books I have out are actually 7 self-published books in 4 years. The "few" excerpts from "the book" were actually two complete short stories from my book "East L.A. Collage" which is currently being used by the 9th grade English classes at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Downtown LA and featured on POWER 106 with Wendy Carillo, and led that night to invitations to particpate at the UCLA book festival in April, with Conrad Romo's Reader's series in Hollywood in May, and a reading at "First Street Studios" in Boyle Hieights next month. And, I must say, the "few" people in the room was a very comfortable 50 some-odd. I really do appreciate your kind words though. Cheers that. I must agree that I am "no stranger to East L.A." since I was indeed born & raised here, attended East LA College & Cal State L.A. Oh, and the local paper I write for is not the "LA Citizen" but rather the "Citzen L.A", of which I have been senior writer for 2 years. I also write for the national art magazine "Artillery" which covers the art scene in LA & NYC. In addition, Maria Hernandez is 21, not 20, and she is truly a remarkable young lady who has gernerously extended a second invitation to me for her next production.

Again, thank you for the coverage.

Love & Whiskey,

Great story, I love the way it's presented. The young woman who set this up does deserve praise. I was planning on going but didn't make it. I wanted to hear Jim Marquez read, he has been to Paris many times and writes eloquently about it.
