I am so glad i bumped into your site, i was at laist.com and los anjealous and they have yet to put something on hal’s death and look at you, you even put the simpsons pic of Hal.
He will be missed, he’s L.A. as it can be.
I always think of Kent Brockman as being more like Jerry Dunphy, although I guess both newscasters served as partial model for his character. Regardless, Hal will be missed.
Pour out a little Cactus Cooler for Hal tonight, Los Angeles!
Thanks Paulag, most of the contributers at Los Angeles TACO are actual Southern Californians who grew up watching Hal and will miss him.
My brother and I used to call him Lou Reed when we were kids. Then one day, we were eating lunch and in walks Lou Reed to the restaurant, I hit my brother and yelled, “Dude, Hal Fishman is here!”

Kent Brockman looks like Jerry Dunphy but his style is a bit more Hal Fishman… anyway they were both great broadcasters.
Hal was a huge Iraq war supporter, but to his credit he seemed to have jumped off the bandwagon relatively quickly.
