How I stopped worrying and learned to love the Jack in the Box regular taco

Well the truth is I can never love the regular Jack in the Box tacos. I only have love for the monster taco. And the monster taco is gone. Not the temporarily type of gone. The gone for good gone. And so a long love affair with yours truly and the monster taco has ended. A love affair that began some 25 years ago when I was a young lad whose knowledge of what a taco was reached about as far as the jack in the box monster taco(then called the super taco) would take me. And it took me far. From the picnic blankets at Douglass park in Santa Monica as a young boy to the kitchen table of a beer fueled twenty-something. The monster taco was my homeboy.

Don’t get me wrong. This taco is about as authentic as a bag of fritos dipped in chile con carne. The oddly long somewhat stale corn shell, the mystery beef, the slice of American cheese, the picante sauce that would settle in the bottom of the wrapper with lettuce droppings. One was aweseome, two less awesome, three disgusting.
I was at my local Jack in the Box the day after the word came down and asked the girl behind the counter what the reaction was from customers.
“They cuss at me ” she said. “One guy…he just started yelling” she continued.

Being the white boy that I am , my taco knowledge as a youngster was similar to yours, basically Taco Bell, Jack in the Box and my moms hamburger tacos with that nasty ass Lawry’s Taco Spice. That Lawry’s shit should be outlawed if for nothing else that awful heart burn it gives you.
I was more of a regular taco kid, I liked the more for less idea. I used to get like 10-14 at a time but the Monster Taco was a better quality taco, if you can actually call a Jack in the Box taco a quality taco. So the other day , after a couple of bong loads of some bomb ass purp I somehow ended up at the Jack in the Crack drive thru and as I was ordering my mini sirloin bugers I got a craving for a couple of Monster Tacos and completed my order with 2. That’s when I got the horrible news that they will no longer be serving them. I’m up in Northern Cali , so we’re having the same crisis here brotha. All over I imagine. We need to stop this madness. What’s next? The Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger? Curly Fries? Regualr Tacos? Who knows when this madness will end?

I miss the Monster Toco too. I sent am email to Taco Bell when they took it off the menu. Consequently, I go to Taco Bell less often. But when I am there, I still here people try to order it. I think if enough people complain or started a campaign to bring it back, they just might reconsider!
