Another great story.
I grew up eating "langue de beuf" (beef tongue). I don't remember it being a delicacy, we ate it before the main dish once in a while. I remember the soft chewy texture and the sweet taste. I liked it a lot but as a little girl I couldn't help thinking I was eating somebody's tongue and there must be some angry cow-sibling somewhere sticking their tongue at me and wishing they could eat mine!
