My friend Andrea often takes me to eat at La Playita so I can practice my Beginning Spanish and because it reminds her of her native Mexico. But I agree even though people gather outside to eat, which I like a lot, there is not much interaction. Sometimes all it takes is someone to start a conversation. I'm sure everybody's thinking about it.

I believe it's just inside Santa Monica, right on the border with Venice, but S.M. proper nonetheless. The tire place next door to the south is in Venice.

Speaking of beefs, I feel bad for the folks at the tire place, who have to endure people eating on their property and discarding trash there.
