I have to say that New Japan is a decent place. I have been to better Sushi places in my life, but New Japan has a distinct flavor when it comes to their Teriyaki and that’s what I love about it. I don’t go to New Japan for gourmet meals or 5 star service. I go when I can for the tasty and inexpensive Japanese cuisine.

If you are going to venture down the road of cheap sushi, you might as well head on over to Sushi Mac on Sawtelle and Olympic. The Sushi is by no means anything special, but 8 roll’s for 2.75 and good service ensures the spot is worth checking out – and if you really want a treat, check out Asahi Ramen up the street for a decent meal.
There is a spot right down Santa Monica across from Coogies cafe in the mini mall, a small Japanese spot that really comes correct but i can never remember the name. I’m glad you posted this tho, i will def. steer clear of this spot.
