Spanish Language Theater ~ this weekend ~Los Angeles

VOLUNTAD DE HIERRO @ the Frida Kahlo Theater, 2332 W. 4th Street, LA, CA 90057, Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 @8pm, $6.00 general.

VOLUNTAD DE HIERRO is an autobiographical account of Eduardo Cholula’s life and challenges as a handicapped person in Mexico and the USA. Starring Adrian Fernandez, Jorge Duran, Mariana Marroquin, Monica Sandoval Perez, Alberto Santillan, Ada Cardona, Gonzalo Suarez y the author as himself, Eduardo Cholula.

And, ALSO IN SPANISH ONLY, through August 26th, an international co-production between the 24th Street Theater, Colombia’s Teatro de Candelaria, and the Olin Theater company:

    I absolutely loved the play. The quality of theater that you get is unbelievable. I was not familiar with Emily Dickinson and they where able to tell me so much about her in an hours time. Great acting, great music… I totally recommend this play. I hope Olin Theater continue to run this play… We need more of this in the Community.

    Thanks Cindy. Even though I don’t speak Spanish (pero estoy aprendiendo!) I would have loved to have seen the play. French being my other language, I would have caught some words and was very interested in experiencing how much I would have received in a non verbal way.

    I not only the quality of the theater, it is what Cindy says that until today I didn’t know who Emily Dickson was, but the play teach me a little bit about her now I’m reading her poems and the other thing is that With this play they try to acknowledge women’s successes taking Emily legacy as model.

    Women Speak, the City is listening.

    This was an excellent dramatisation of Emily Dickson, I took my family to the play and they all enjoyed it. We are glad there are still people out there that enjoys plays like this, the Theater was full and that is a good sign. thank you Mafalda for the invitation. We really had a great time. Now we really know who Emily was and meant to our history.
