Gallery 1988 knows how to put on an art show and they’re kicking off the new year right with their tribute show for the Beastie Boys. This is their second under the influence show and it looks like they’re not stopping anytime soon. The show got the official seal of approval from the Beastie Boys themselves, with part of the money raised by the show going to Gaymercy Housing Group, a charity group the guys choose themselves. Comic book artist and BB fan Jim “Food One” Mahfood kicked it down with 200 hand signed and numbered Paul’s Boutique mini-comic, “Ask For Janice”. More than a hundred artist payed their respects to the BB for being some of the best MCs ever and inspiring the next generation. The show will be on from till January 29 at the gallery.
