Tune of the Day: Graves – Genesis (Tsuruda Remix)

1:16 PM PST on December 1, 2017

We are living the darkest timeline-- rightwing interlopers have stolen the election, pillaged the globe, and have turned their sights to media and the internet. Net neutrality laws protect free speech, when they are gone it's possible that Washington, under the control of Trump and his minions, will promote Fox News and other propaganda and stifle legitimate alternative sources of information. The LA Weekly has been sold to parasitic trolls from Orange County, and LAist was shuttered by an angry billionaire who refused to pay a living wage. The planet is dying and our government is promoting coal, and hindering development of planet-saving technologies. People are being deported outside their kids' schools and the nation just watches it happen. The bad guys have won and the rest of us are sitting here wondering how the fuck things went so wrong...

Dark times call for dark tunes, and Tsuruda is more than up to the task. The LA-based producer delivers the goods on his latest remix, of Graves' track Genesis, which just went live on SoundCloud via AlphaPup. Mountains of low end combined with chilling percussion create a dark, end-times soundtrack, even when blasted out of a Jeep in the California sunshine. Enjoy this one this weekend as you contemplate the next steps towards rebirth and resurrection.
