The First Lowriders On the 6th Street Bridge

It's been six years since the 6th street viaduct was closed and a lowrider crossed over,  but that changed Friday night at approximately 10:30 PM. A group of lowriders and classic cars met at Foster's Freeze on Whittier Boulevard at 9:30 PM, just a few blocks down. The cars rolled out and headed for the bridge entrance just before 10:30 PM. The caravan consisted of rides like Impalas, Mini Trucks, Bombitas. Car clubs such as Just Memories, Elegants, and Techniques, and more were present and ready to create cruising history.

With popular movies like "Gone In 60 Seconds," "Grease." and "Drive" filmed on the old 6th street bridge; is the new bridge destined to be just as popular? More importantly, will it be truly Cruising-friendly? We hope so.
