Grand National Roadster Show ~ Pomona

The Top Prize

This past weekend the first major custom automobile show of the year took place at the LA County Fairgrounds. The Grand National Roadster show is the oldest running indoor hot rod show and is in its fifth year at the fairgrounds. The event features hundreds of hot rods, customs, motorcycles, muscle cars, street machines and lowriders. The top builders compete for top honors. This year like previous years it was going to be hard to award the best because the show presents the best of the best and the stakes were again raised. The top prize is "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" which is presented to most beautiful and exquisite hot rod roaster. Along with the title a nine foot trophy and a cash prize is awarded to the winner.

The majority of the show entries are hot rod roadsters.

The legendary lowrider club Lifestyle was in attendance and as always their display had alot of traffic so it was very hard to get a clear shot of the cars.

Photographer Marco Patino brought out his sick 65 Riviera "Riviera Paradise". This car is the cover car for the April 2008 issue of Lowrider magazine.

There were hundreds of cars, truck and motorcycles spread out on the fairgrounds so the photos here are just a small sample of the show. I have over 200 photos on my Flickr page. Here is the direct link to the photoset.
