Daily Memo: ICE Activity Has Doubled Since Last Week

At least 31 people were taken this week. 30 by ICE and one by CBP. All numbers are based on L.A. TACO’s reporting; the true number is assumed to be much higher. This is the minimum number of detainments.

RAIDS

[Thursday. March 19. Day 287.]

  • Orange County: 7:00 am, vehicles spotted in the area by local community watchers.
  • Downey: At the Downey Courthouse on 7500 Imperial Hwy, around 8:21 a.m. ICE vehicles were seen once again in the parking lot of the courthouse. There were no reports of anyone being taken after their hearing.
  • Westminster: On 13th St and Pacific Ave, around 8:15 a.m. Community watch teams confirmed that ICE agents were in a residential area.
  • Huntington Park: On Central Ave and Gage Ave, ICE agents scene inside the USPS station in the area.
  • Menifee: On 30414 Town Center Drive, 9:00 a.m. Community watchers confirmed the presence of at least three ICE agents in the parking lot of a complex.
  • San Diego: In Balboa Park on 555 Upas St, around 2:45 p.m. ICE agents kidnapped a man who was working on a jobsite. Residents found his work truck that was left behind.

[Friday. March 20. Day 288.]

  • Hollywood: On Wilton Pl and Santa Monica Blvd, around 6:45 a.m. ICE agents were seen in the area. 
  • Escondido: On 13th Ave and Upas St, around 6:39 a.m. ICE agents were seen in the area in the early morning taking one person. 2nd post
  • Arroyo Grande: Around 8:59 a.m. ICE vehicles were seen in the area.
  • Santa Maria: At the Santa Barbara County North Jail on 2301 Black Rd, around 10:03 a.m. ICE agents were seen in the parking lot waiting for releases.
  • Bellflower: At the USCIS Application Support Center on 8002, 17610 Bellflower Blvd, around 9:00 a.m. A masked and plain-clothed federal immigration agent was seen kidnapping at least one person.
