Photographer Sunny Bak will display her iconic Beastie Boys images from the License To Ill era in Sherman Oaks on March 16 at 3PM at Basement 818 Gallery in Sherman Oaks. Also on display will be the collaborative work of Ms. Bak and graffiti artist Cey Adams, a member of the Beastie Boys family.

“During the 80’s the Beastie Boys and I were having a great time,” Bak recalls. “We were documenting hip hop history but we didn’t even know it.”

This showcase will also include two silent auctions of Bak’s photos. The proceeds from these sales will go to the fight against cancer and to Prop 8 Films, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization producing a documentary on the legal trial of Proposition 8, the California same-sex marriage ban. This event will also feature a special performance by Beastie Boys tribute group Pollywog Crew at 4PM.
