Earth Day Celebration ~ April 21st in Highland Park

11:11 AM PDT on April 16, 2018

Please join Los Angeles Sanitation for Earth Day LA 2018, Saturday, April 21st from 10 am to 2 pm at the Highland Park Recreation Center in Northeast Los Angeles. There will be over 60 exhibits promoting the concepts of conservation and sustainability, City trucks and vehicles for exploration, local entertainment, and an educational Kid’s Zone. There will be free snacks and drinks while supplies last.

The event will be held at the Highland Park Recreation Center at 6150 Piedmont Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90042, located near the Metro Gold Line Highland Park stop.

The Earth Day event will feature 75 Exhibitions in a special exhibitor area. All of the exhibitors are either government or non-profit and are there to both entertain and inform. You'll learn inside information about the city's sanitation system, and useful tips like where to get free mulch, how to use recycled water home, how to get a free street tree in front of your home, and a lot more. This area also has giveaways of cool stuff from various organizations.

The event is especially kid friendly with many different areas for kids to explore, but the highlight for many of the children is going to be the city equipment area-- LASAN brings out one of each truck type for kids to explore. Honk horns, operate the controls, and see what it’s like to be a collections worker in the city of Los Angeles.

Some of the musical entertainment will include:

    DJ Jorge Nesta
    Renaissance Academy Musicians
    Salserinas
    Alarma

You can get more information on this free event on the LASAN website.
