JAS: Portraits ~ Opens March 30th

Photographer JAS presents a collection ot striking portraits includings images of some ot his creative
heroes, such as seminal street photographer Jamel Shabazz, and true-school Hip Hop artists Chubb
Rock, Special Ed, Kwame and Dana Dane. Also on View are vibrant street portraits of unknown but
equally compelling subjects from Brooklyn to London to the Dominican Republic.

JAS is best previously known as Jaysonic of the cult-favorite independent Hip Hop trio Time Machine.

In recent years, his Creative focus has shifted from music to other forms of Writing, and ofcourse,
photography. He studied English and Creative Writing at The George Washington University in
Washington, DC.

This exhibition takes place at Piecelock70 Headquarters, the physical location of the artist collective
and record label run by Thes One ot People Under The Stairs, one of the most successful
fully-independent music groups of all-time.

The photos are each printed in signed and numbered editions ot 5, and available for purchase at the
exhibition. Also available tor purchase is a JAS portrait ot People Under The Stairs, in an edition ot
50, hand signed by the duo ot Thes One and Double Kthemselves, as well as the artist­

The opening reception on Saturday March 30th will feature music played by surprise guest DJs.
Vintage arcade games Will be 0n the premises as well.
