King Acne ~ Superhero Rapper from Westlake

[dropcap size=big]K[/dropcap]ing Acne is the alter ego of 19-year-old rapper Mahir Uddin, and his new mixtape, Bulletproof Soul, is out now on Soundcloud. King Acne has no super powers, but he fights injustice and racism from his home base in Westlake using his raw talents, brains, and flair for the dramatic.

Mahir and his brother have been working on the project together, including a music video which you can watch above. The sons of Bangladeshi-born immigrants, the pair represent the heart of LA from their homebase near LaFayette Park in Westlake, close to their favorite taco truck, El Tauro taco truck on Wilshire/Shatto Pl. Their go-to order is the Carne asada mulitas, al pastor tacos, tortas, asada california burritos, and horchata.

Bulletproof Soul has impressive rapping and singing, almost all of it done by King Acne, and an origin story that follows the transformation of King Acne into a local vigilante who tries to defend his neighborhood from evil-doers. Give it a listen below...
