Ras G Drops a Mixtape for Ethiopian Vegan Restaurant Azla

10:51 AM PDT on September 20, 2016

South Central Los Angeles is home to family run business Azla Vegan Ethiopian Restaurant, which has been garnering acclaim from a wide variety of fans, including both Guy Fieri and LA underground producer Ras G. The restaurant is lead by Nesanet Abegaze and named after her mother, Azla, who also provides the restaurant's recipes.

Earlier this month, Azla and Nesanet got together with Ras G for the first installment of their Azla Sounds mixtape series, featuring new music to highlight the tradition, culture and diaspora of Ethiopia.

Over the weekend, Azla Vegan was featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Putting Guy Fieri and Ras G together in the same sentence is something we never thought we'd do, so the power of Azla restaurant is something to be reckoned with. Enjoy the mixtape, you can stream it below...
